The Standard We Work To

We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act in US case law, by Section 508, and by the European Accessibility Act.

We are partially conformant. Some parts of the site meet the standard and some do not yet. Claiming full conformance would be easy to write and untrue.

What Is In Place

Descriptive alt text on product images so screen reader users know what a jacket looks like.
Keyboard navigation through the main menu, product pages, cart and checkout.
Visible focus indicators so keyboard users can see where they are.
Semantic heading structure, so a screen reader can jump between sections.
Form fields with associated labels and error messages that name the field with the problem.
Text that reflows and remains readable at 200% zoom.
Size and measurement information published as text in a table, not baked into an image.

Known Problems We Are Working On

Publishing this list is the point of the exercise:
