Cookie Policy
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others watch what you do so we can measure or advertise. This page explains which is which, and how to turn off the second kind.
This policy sits alongside the Privacy Policy, which covers everything else we do with personal data.
How Consent Works Here
Strictly necessary cookies run automatically because the cart, checkout and login cannot function without them. Nothing else runs until you say yes.
Analytics, advertising and personalisation cookies stay switched off until you accept them in the banner. Rejecting them does not restrict the site. You can browse, order and get your jacket exactly the same way.
To change your mind at any time, use the Cookie Settings link in the site footer. Consent is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again.
What We Use
Strictly necessary — always on Required
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
| woocommerce_cart_hash | Tracks what is in your cart | Session |
| woocommerce_items_in_cart | Tracks cart contents so totals update | Session |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | Links your session to your cart data | 2 days |
| wordpress_logged_in_* | Keeps you logged in to your account | Session |
| cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie choices | 12 months |
| Payment provider cookies | Fraud screening and secure checkout | Session to 12 months |
These cannot be switched off through the banner. Blocking them in your browser will break the cart and checkout.
Analytics — consent required Optional
These tell us which pages people actually read, where they leave, and what breaks. They do not identify you by name.
| Provider | Purpose | Duration |
| Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) | Visitor counts, page paths, traffic sources | Up to 2 years |
| Google Search Console | No cookies set — verification only | N/A |
Advertising and retargeting — consent required Optional
These let us show ads to people who looked at a jacket and left, and let us measure whether an ad led to a sale.
| Provider | Purpose | Duration |
| Google Ads / Google Shopping | Conversion tracking and remarketing | Up to 13 months |
| Meta Pixel (_fbp) | Facebook and Instagram ad measurement | Up to 3 months |
If you reject this category, none of these load. We use Google Consent Mode, so where consent is refused these tags either do not fire or send only aggregated, cookieless signals.
Functional — consent required Optional
Wishlist contents, recently viewed items, saved preferences and any chat widget. Rejecting this category means those features forget you between visits.
Controlling Cookies in Your Browser
Independently of our banner, every browser lets you block or delete cookies:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
A warning worth reading: blocking all cookies at browser level will break the cart on this site and on most others. If you only want to stop tracking, reject the advertising and analytics categories in our banner instead. That achieves the same thing without breaking checkout.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser or extension sends one, we treat it as a valid opt-out of advertising cookies and of sale or sharing under California law, automatically, without you needing to contact us.
The older Do Not Track header has no agreed standard and we do not rely on it. Use GPC or our banner.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by the companies named above rather than by us. We control whether they load; we do not control what they do once loaded. Their own privacy policies govern that, and you can review them on their sites.
Changes
We update this page when we add or remove a tool. The date at the top shows the current version. If we add a new category of tracking, we ask for consent again rather than relying on your previous answer.
Contact
Questions about cookies: info@jjacket.com, or +1-510-833-7711 between 09:00 and 17:00 GST, Monday to Friday.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Only the strictly necessary cookies are required, and those run automatically because the cart and checkout depend on them. You can reject analytics and advertising and still order normally.
Use the Cookie Settings link in the site footer. It reopens the preference panel on any page. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again.
Only if you consent to advertising cookies. If you reject that category the pixel does not load at all, rather than loading in a restricted mode.
The cart will stop working, on this site and most others, because the cart depends on a session cookie. Reject the advertising and analytics categories in our banner instead.
Yes. A GPC signal from your browser is treated as a valid opt-out of advertising cookies and of sale or sharing under California law, applied automatically to that browser.
